FIREMAP

FIREMAP        Tutorial        F.A.Q.

Firemap resulted from a research project funded by the National Science Foundation and has been in use since 2015 (Award number number: NSF1331615), in partnership with the Los Angeles Fire Department.  Firemap is now an operational tool for real-time environmental data visualization, fire behavior modeling and forecasting, and "what-if?" analyses for potential fires.

Firemap enables simple execution of fire models with options for running ensembles by taking the information uncertainty into account. The results are easily viewable sharable, repeatable, and can be animated as a time series.
